Tokyo tickets

Tickets back to Tokyo aren't as bad as I thought they'd be. Like 700 bucks or so.

Tickets from Tokyo to Sydney aren't that bad either, but they shoot up right around x-mas (of course). I'll have to get on that quick. I'll probably book it the evening I get into Tokyo.

Things I'll miss when I go back to Tokyo:
- the cats
- my mother
- the quiet
- the blue sky
- the trees and the mountains and the open space

But! I can't wait to see Baldy, D-girl, and my best friend and her husband. I CAN'T WAIT.

It'll be nice to get back to real life. I'll get a job again, and go back to my over-worked, exhausted self.

In two weeks, I'm gone. A little sad about leaving, but happy to get out of this limbo state.

omg I had no idea it was that cheap!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well that's before the fuel surcharge and tax and all that crap. So it adds up to almost 1,000 bucks in the end.

still pretty good, i hear depending on the time of year one can snag cheap tickets to that side of the world

Hmmmm. You using a U.S. carrier or one of the Japanese carriers? Had fleetingthoughts about taking my son back over the holiays for a refresher/download, but when I asked about using the miles we have accumulated, the agent had to try hard not to laugh.

I'm confused...so you're going to go to college in the USA next year? and work now in Tokyo until then? or.....?

Yes, if I get in (and I will!), I will go to college in the US from next fall. And I will work my ass off in Japan until then.

Actually, JAL was cheaper if I flew out on Thursday, but I'm flying out Friday, so United was cheapest. There is a big difference in price between flying out from the west coast and east coast though, I would think. Why can't you use your frequent flier miles? You just don't have enough?

No, I've plenty of miles, the airlines don;t have seats open at this time of year for people who want to use miles.

I, too, am envious - I wish I were going with you!!!!

What is it about Tokyo and Japan that is so intriguing and inviting to all of us?
