star wars, old school computers

I think we should only have to pay a fraction of the total cost. It's only fair.

Perhaps you could use one of those 40 lb calculators with the handle to figure out the appropriate amount.

(Click here, if you want to see some of the early-70's models. My cellphone has more calculating functions.)
I remember my dad telling me about those large calculators, too. We had a Commodore 64 computer growing up which I think we would still have if my dad hadn't given it to my cousins (who promptly ruined it). Oh, the days of typing in pages of command lines to get a little ball to bounce across the screen. And playing Donkey Kong! :)
Oh wow, so that's what they looked like. They were desktop calculators? Wow. No wonder people in Japan used abacuses forever. Even I had to learn how to use them, and I'm (relatively) young. I mean pocket calculators existed. Which was why I always did badly in abacus lessons, because I couldn't get over the "what is the point of this, just use a calculator" mindset. Stupid abacus.
Yeah, the days of putting in way too many commands so that the computer just went crazy and you had to unplug it to make it stop. And the days of green screens and yellow text. What the hell?
its amazing how far technology has come and now what was great yesterday is outdated today, ive seen some of the phones they have in japan ..man those things could run a house!

If you really want to roll your eyes, ask your mother about how Japanese was typed out before wordprocessing took hold!

No TV signal?! You all must really be 'out there'.

It's cool to see how the human mind heals. That's how I interpret your dream anyway :)

And yeah....Star Wars is the coolest film of all time. I want to be in THAT Galaxy...sigh...what's a few dark lords of the Sith compared to really evil shit, like...doing your taxes, and having to work 9 to 6.....

Jesus, give me a fight to the death with a lightsaber anytime.
