highschool friends on facebook
An old high school friend contacted me through facebook. She's half Japanese half Italian, well actually she's 100% American -- her mother is fourth generation Japanese American and her father is also second or third generation Italian American. Anyway her Italian father was completely weird. The last I heard (which was like ten years ago), he went all paranoid and pulled a gun on his family, then drove off and lead the cops on a high speed chase. Which always ends in an arrest. When has anybody ever watched a high speed highway chase and seen the guy actually get away?
We were good friends in high school, but actually we had nothing in common and pretty much completely lost touch immediately after graduation. She did have a girlfriend though. We sort of liked boys, but we were also a little confused since we were completely unable to trust men in general, and then next thing I knew she was going out with this asian tomboy a year younger than us. But guess what? She got married last year to a white MAN, and she couldn't wait to tell me through facebook.
She also joined The Very HOT HOT HOT Half Asian Group on facebook, that I am a member of. Because of course, I am a very hot hot hot half asian girl ; )
Then another friend found me. She used to be kind of a weirdo too (of course, this was high school, everybody was weird). Suddenly she's calling herself "Josie" (she used to go by a really Persian name, because that was her REAL name), and I swear she's had work done on her face. Because she is unrecognizeable, and totally hot.
I wonder what everybody thinks of my facebook page.

I'd join that group, but I'm not half asian, nor very hot hot hot either..
Between the sadness,
there are moments of joy
to celebrate.
Not that I am a big FaceBook fan: I have an account, which I use rarely, but my son has his account, and looks at it, and does whatever I am not supposed to know about on it daily.
FaceBook to me seems liike going to a WalMart, not exciting, but the basics are there.
